himself in Hauppauge this morning.
Police say the vehicles were
driving westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 57, when the vehicles
crashed at 2:04 a.m.
One car overturned on the roadway, and a truck traveled over
a guardrail and ended up in an embankment before coming to a stop on the
shoulder.
James Todarello, 72, of Coram, was transported to Stony
Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Nolan Grant, 57, of Medford, was transported to South Shore
University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries. Grant was
charged with DWI. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
The expressway was closed for four hours at
exit 57 between Vets Highway and Old Nicolls Road. Residual delays are being
reported.
