For many Bronx residents, Independence Day means barbecuing in the park. For others, it could mean one big mess to clean up.
Residents can still be seen at Crotona Park, grilling, listening to music and generally enjoying their Saturday after the Fourth of July.
Those reveling in the park say they were quite pleased with how clean it was when they arrived this morning.
The Bowman family has been frequenting the park for more than 20 years. They say the park is clean no matter the holiday, or time of day, but it does appear cleaner than it has ever been after the Fourth.
The family says park officials went around handing out black garbage bags, making it easier for everyone to clean up.
