Gov. Andrew Cuomo has directed state agencies to stand ready to assist local partners if needed ahead of possible storms making their way to New York City. 

The Department of Buildings is advising property owners, contractors and crane operators to take precautionary measures during high winds. 

The DOB says they will be performing random spot-check inspections of construction sites around the city.
