Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced today that more help from the state is on the way to Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
Cuomo made the announcement on the relief effort at Westchester County Airport.
He says a series of medical supplies is being sent to help get the island back on track. The governor also says that New York has done more than any other state in recovery efforts, and he's proud of what's being done.
"They say New Yorkers are rough and gruff and we're a little tough and gruff. Maybe it's a little bit of an act, but we are also generous, compassionate and loving. And that's the message to give the people of Puerto Rico," he says.
Cuomo also says there are about 100 doctors and 200 nurses from the state that are prepared to go to Puerto Rico.
