Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday new initiatives to get New Yorkers vaccinated against COVID-19.
Cuomo launched more vaccination centers at airports in the state, including John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia airports.
The launch of the additional vaccination sites comes as the summer approaches and more New Yorkers plan to travel.
A second initiative includes a chance to win up to $5 million.
"We announce a plan where you can win up to $5 million if you get vaccinated next week: 'Vax and Scratch,'" Cuomo said. "You get a vaccination, and you get a lottery ticket for the $5 million mega multiplier New York State Lottery."
The "Vax and Scratch" pilot program will be available at 10 vaccination sites that include Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, the Bay Eden Senior Center in the Bronx and the Javits Center in Manhattan and will run from May 24 to May 28.
But these aren’t the only spots offering incentives to those who are vaccinated.
Beginning Friday, the Bronx Zoo is offering a free ticket for a future visit to those who get vaccinated at the zoo.
The New York Aquarium planning to do the same soon.
Those who get vaccinated can also get a free 10-ride NYC ferry pass.
