Charges in connection with an Allerton mass shooting against an 18-year-old have been dropped, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark has confirmed.

The 18-year-old was involved in a crash nearby and a gun was found by his car.

The teen was driving his dad's black van when a gray Honda fleeing from a shooting smashed into him. Ammunition ended up on the dash and a gun under the car he was driving. When he spoke with News 12, he said he has never owned a gun and would never hurt anyone.

News 12 spoke with his father, who said he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and the gun was not his.

The teen spent a few nights in a holding cell at the 49th Precinct with no previous criminal record.

The Bronx district attorney says they had to follow the facts at first, but after further investigation it became clear he was not involved.

The teen was initially arrested on a slew of charges, including weapons charges. All the charges have been dropped.
