A group of three dogs in Morris Park is causing trouble for the community. Neighbors told News 12 the dogs, who live outside, regularly jump the fence, chase after people, bite other dogs and people.

One of the dogs even killed another dog. News 12 spoke with its owner Evie.

"That dog took my dog like if my dog was a rag. Moved it around," said Evie.

She said she's devastated and that her 7-year-old dog Canela was her pride and joy.

"Emotionally I'm destroyed. I really am," Evie said. "I lost my joy, and I don't have no peace."

Multiple people in the neighborhood told News 12 they've seen the dogs roaming around, running after them, and biting other dogs. They believe the dogs are violent because they're being abused.

"I saw that they're digging out the trash in the front to eat. They eat diapers and stuff like that," said Susan Lee, who lives right next to the dogs.

"They will hit them with the stick. Boom boom boom. Be quiet. Shut up," said Evie.

Evie started a petition to remove the dogs from the home and get them to safety. It has over 80 signatures. She said she will take the petition to court and sue the dogs' owner for her medical bills.

News 12 reached out to the Department of Health. A spokesperson said they are in contact with the person who reached out and are investigating this situation. Animal Care and Control said it does not have law enforcement powers, but after speaking with the police, it did confirm a report was made for someone who was bitten by a dog.
