Mayor Bill de Blasio says New York City has expanded walk-in vaccine appointment eligibility for all residents regardless of their age or what borough they live in.
The new rule applies to all city-run vaccination sites, meaning everyone 16 and older can walk into the South Bronx Educational Campus, Bathgate Contract Postal Station or Lehman College without an appointment and get inoculated.
Also starting today, New York residents 60 and older are eligible for walk-in appointments at state-run sites like Yankee Stadium.
De Blasio is also encouraging walk-in appointments at federal health centers and is asking private providers to contact patients so they can get vaccinated.
