Major deadlines for the final design of NYC's Five Bridges plan, which includes the Cross Bronx, have been delayed.
What was supposed to be a major deadline for Wednesday has now been pushed to May 7.
The project is meant to repair or replace five bridges across the Cross Bronx. The state's Department of Transportation says those bridges are well past the end of their service lives.
Opponents say the project would expand the expressway by 50 feet and bring toxic conditions closer to thousands of Bronx residents living nearby.
