The medical examiner's office ruled the death of a woman at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln a homicide.

Cynthia Vann, 55, died from complications after being struck in the head.

Vann's daughter, Taneisha, says her mother was asleep in her hospital room when her roommate assaulted her on Sept. 10. Vann succumbed to her injuries on Sept. 27.

Taniesha says the roommate has a known history of violence and feels that the hospital failed her mother.

News 12 reached out to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln but has not heard back.
