The city's Department of Buildings issued a stop work order at the construction site of a Days Inn hotel on Bruckner Boulevard in Castle Hill.

The stop work order comes after residents in the Castle Hill Betterment Association filed numerous complaints with the city. They say the location of the hotel was impractical and they were concerned it could become a breeding ground for illegal activity, like prostitution.

The association also claims the hotel development had violated zoning issues, though the developer followed the rules in setting up the building's now-completed foundation.
