It is warming up and outdoor dining is about to be back in full swing around the boroughs. New York City is implementing the Dining Out NYC program for all city restaurants Monday.
The program sets parameters and rules around permanent outdoor dining, giving clear guidance on what will and won't be allowed for sidewalk or street set-ups.
If an outdoor structure is on the sidewalk, it is permitted year-round. For the ones on the street, they can only operate from April 1 to Nov. 29.
For restaurant owners participating, they have to apply to the program by Aug. 3.
