DOB issues violations to Crown Heights building after bricks fall on man walking by

Several bricks came crashing down off a building in Crown Heights, with some bricks landing on a man walking by.
The moments when the bricks came tumbling off a building in Crown Heights Wednesday night were captured on surveillance cameras.
“It came straight down with a loud crashing sound,” says witness Hasrith Khan.
 Hasrith Khan was across the street when it happened.
“One guy was there, the other guy ran. The guy was unconscious, I was on the phone with 911, they were telling us to put pressure on his head,” says Khan.
He shared a photo with News 12 of the victim, who is reportedly 39 years old and was rushed to the hospital with a fractured skull and injuries to his ribs and shoulder.
The Department of Buildings says it has issued violations to the owner of 1412 St. John’s Place for failure to maintain the building and for illegal work being performed without a permit. The DOB says a stop work order for the illegal work and a partial vacate order was issued for the grocery store’s loading dock.
The Department of Buildings tells News 12 the owner of the building has been ordered to erect a sidewalk shed across the front of the property immediately.
News 12 is told victim is in serious but stable condition.
