The Centers for Disease Control has launched a $2 billion program to produce vaccines for swine flu before the start of the fall flu season.

Dr. Nora Esteban, of Montefiore Children's Hospital, says vaccinating school-aged children is important because disease is easily spread among classmates. Despite worries of a swine flu outbreak, Esteban says there may not be enough vaccines produced before flu season starts.

Doctors say parents should still get their children flu shots for the seasonal flu and teach children to cover their coughs and sneezes, and wash their hands frequently.

CDC officials say the swine flu outbreak could be mild.
