The city's Department of Health teamed up with the mayor's office, ASPCA and Animal Care Centers of NYC for a free vaccination clinic.
Dogs and cats were treated to rabies and distemper shots Sunday in Crotona Park.
Officials say vaccinations are important to protect your pet from diseases.
Pet owners also had the opportunity to purchase dog licenses.
“The idea of bringing this to the community so that we people are aware and they know, ‘Oh, this is how I get this dog license,’ these are the reasons why you should get a dog license and we make it easier for them as well, too,” says Tida Johnston, director of operations for DOHMH.
