Most shelves are wiped clean at the Dollar K in Pelham Parkway before the store closes for good later this month.
Shateek Bilal says he comes to the store about four times a week for their discounted items.
"I've got this thing with $0.99 stores. I just come get one thing and end up with paper towels and just, you know, it's therapeutic for me," said Shateek Bilal.
The mom-and-pop shop has been open for over 15 years and Bilal has been coming here ever since.
"They call me brother. I call them sister and brother. It's like a family," he said.
The owners told News 12 that rising prices are the cause of the closure. Their last day open will be Mother's Day, May 11.
