DOT: 3rd Avenue bridge in Port Morris gets stuck in open position due to heat

The DOT says that the equipment that moves the bridge got overheated. Crews are now working to cool that equipment down.

The Department of Transportation says the 3rd Avenue Bridge was stuck in the open position on Monday afternoon because of the heat.

Video from the Citizen App shows the bridge stalled in the open position, preventing cars from driving across.

The DOT says that the equipment that moves the bridge got overheated. Crews spent time working to cool that equipment down.

All lanes of the bridge in both directions are now reopened.
