The Department of Transportation says to expect traffic congestion and road closures in downtown Brooklyn.
The DOT advises travelers to avoid the area due to major road construction, which will be affecting the BQE closing one lane Queens bound and closing the Atlantic Avenue Ramp.
There are multiple detours to get around the congestion, including taking Atlantic Avenue to Boreum Place and making a right on Tillary Street to the BQE.
Another route is available going down Furman Street to Old Fulton Street, turning right onto Prospect Street and then left onto Sands to enter the BQE.
The DOT says this is not the only weekend to expect major construction and congestion. Next Saturday, Oct. 29 to Oct. 31 will also have road closures due to construction.
