New York City is launching a one-year pilot program to address illegal overnight truck parking in residential neighborhoods. The Department of Transportation initiative will create 45 designated parking spaces in industrial business zones, including in Hunts Point on Ryawa Avenue from Manida Street to Halleck Street. Truck drivers can use the ParkNYC app to secure parking spots, paying $10 for eight hours, with free parking on Sundays. The city will monitor the program's impact over the next year before deciding on future expansion.
