It's gonna be a dry weekend finally because marathon Sunday just three days away and one local runner is ready to take on the 26.2 mile trek for the second time and tells us that he's running for a cause that's near and dear to his heart. News. Twelve's Mary Lynn Buckley is bringing us the story from Sunset Park Greg furlong. He's getting warmed up and making sure he does plenty of stretching before he takes on his second New York City marathon this Sunday. He tells us he's always been a lifelong runner and in his spare time, he tells us his passion is giving back across the city to help feed the many New Yorkers that are hungry and in need. And when he realized he could be running as a part of city Hall team where he often volunteers. He thought, why not to fundraise for a cause that impacts so many New Yorkers. He said it was a no brainer. I don't wake up or go to bed hungry and I'm very fortunate for that. Um But so many people do. So I think we just kind of, it's a team effort here in New York City, everyone needs to give back a bit. You know, in New York City there's plenty of food. There's so much food, but just distribution of it just doesn't make sense. So that's why we step in here. You get people to volunteer and just help collect it, pack it and move it. The Department of Transportation is already getting ready for a marathon Sunday. Starting tonight. They're going to be painting with 50 gallons, nearly 50 gallons of marathon blue paint stretching 26.2 miles all across the city that is going to guide runners on their route as they take on this year's marathon.
