A taxi has finally been removed after being double-parked and booted in West Farms for two days.
Prior to the removal, residents say they were told by 311 that it was not the service's responsibility.
A representative from the Scofflaw Patrol who removed the boot told News 12 The Bronx that a tow company should have been notified as soon as the car was seen double-parked on the street.
Cars are usually booted for several reasons, including owing the city over $350 in parking violations, red light violations or bus lane violations. However, residents say booting the vehicle made it a nightmare for drivers in the area.
A spokesperson for the NYPD says the boot was issued by the sheriff's department. News 12 The Bronx reached out to the sheriff's department, but is waiting to hear back.
