The third annual Dine In Park Slope kicks off on Monday and 40 bars and restaurants are taking part, offering discounts to customers.
The establishments are open for takeout, outdoor dining and delivery. They will also be thanking customers through a series of freebies, specials and discounts up to 20% off.
Among the participants is Buttermilk Bakeshop, best known for their chocolate chip cookies and cakes. It's offering customers a buy one, get one deal on their cookies.
Buttermilk Bakeshop co-owner Katy Kinch says business is still down from the pandemic, but their loyal customers are what's getting them back on their feet.
"We know our clients, we know our community and we've watched their kids grow up and their families change and graduations, and we've been there, and it means a lot to us," she says.
The event is a collaboration with Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement Development.
Executive Director Mark Caserta says, "Anything we can do to generate extra business right now is really important."
Kinch hopes the event will encourage residents to help many small businesses in the area.
"There's a lot of small businesses around here and we're all kinda fighting right now, so like if you get a couple cookies from us, hopefully then you'll go across the street and you'll help everybody," she says.
