East End: 2021 grape harvest at area vineyards

In this week's the East End, News 12's Doug Geed took at the 2021 grape harvest at area vineyards.
A harvesting machine slowly and carefully goes up and down rows of grapevines collecting the fruit that started growing in the spring.
It's a precarious time for those in the wine industry. After months of dealing with all sorts of weather issues, they finally get a close-up look at the grapes that will make up the 2021 vintage.
And this time of year means long hours and days for vineyard managers and winemakers.
Meanwhile, winery owners are hoping this year's vintage will be similar to 2019, which is considered an excellent year for Long Island wines.
