East End: Catapano's Dairy Farm in Peconic

Erin Burke had horses growing up in Alabama, but she didn't know much about goats.
That changed two years ago when she and her husband bought Catapano's Dairy Farm in Peconic.
"They're very sweet and kind and gentle. They're very loving. They're also very funny and playful. They love people, especially little kids," says Burke.
Goats are also pretty good at giving milk. From that milk, they produce cheese - including their most popular, chevre.
They also make a line of soaps and skin care lotions.
There's another increasingly popular use for the animals. It's called "goat-scaping." Like landscaping, they clear overgrown areas by eating whatever's growing.
They also offer baby goat yoga classes on weekends.
