House painting is not considered an essential business during the COVID-19 pandemic, but many people feel that what artist Mike Pagano is doing right now is essential.
He's painting a cheerful message amid all the despair.
It started with a rainbow. Then Pagano started offering to paint other people's front doors and windows!
Pagano paints for free, but people usually make a donation of some kind. "Somebody made me a cheesecake. Somebody gave me a homemade spaghetti sauce. I have so many bottles of wine at my house I can't drink it fast enough," he says.
The brightly colored, whimsical scenes of hope, also include a little message.
