A New York City barber was honored Wednesday for his service to the East Harlem community.
East Harlem's Claudio Caponigro has been cutting hair for New Yorkers for over six decades.
New York Secretary of State Robert J. Rodriguez issued a proclamation to Caponigro for his service and loyalty to his community. Claudio's barbershop was a staple in East Harlem for over 60 years.
He never raised his prices from the day he opened until the day he closed in August of 2019.
Visitors might have seen the historic barbershop in Bronx native Jennifer Lopez's music video for "I'm Gonna Be Alright."
