Elevators have been taken out of service at the Pelham Bay Park subway stop.
The elevators will remain at a standstill until January of 2016 due to a new construction project at the 6 train station.
There are only a handful of close elevator accessible subway stops to use as an alternative. They are the Hunts Point Avenue 6 train stop, the Pelham Parkway 2 train station and the 4 train stop on Fordham Road.
Transportation officials say commuters will need to take a bus to and from those subway stops, and then transfer accordingly to get to their destinations.
