The Erie County DA says a missing Buffalo State College student from the Bronx appears to have died by suicide.
Saniyya Dennis, a 19-year-old honor student, had last been seen on camera leaving her dorm hall on April 24. Erie County District Attorney John Flynn says Dennis and her boyfriend broke up earlier that day following an argument.
Though no body has been recovered, the DA said an exhaustive review of evidence and search point to a suicide.
Flynn says the evidence was presented to her family yesterday.
Dennis' phone had been traced to Niagara Falls State Park. Police dogs followed her scent to a trail by the falls, where there is a railing next to the water. That is where the scent stops, though the dogs tried to follow the scent into the water.
