One Bronx parent says their child never entered school property during drop-off Monday at P.S. 105 and then wandered the streets of the Bronx.
Madeline tells News 12 that her 5-year-old, Raul, was seen on surveillance wandering the streets alone and was found 15 minutes away from the school. She says a woman found Raul and brought him into a supermarket before she found Madeline's contact in his book bag. That's when she says she was notified he had been found outside school property.
Madeline tells News 12 that she called the school frantically to find out what happened but that the school did not have an answer.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Education for comment on the situation. It responded with a statement saying, "Our students must be safe at school – anything less is unacceptable. We take this incident extremely seriously and have reported this to the Special Commissioner of Investigation for an investigation. In the meantime, we are working with the school to provide any needed support to this student and their family and ensure students are safe and supervised at all times."
