EXCLUSIVE: Car stolen from driveway in Baychester

A Baychester resident shared exclusive video with News 12 of a group of individuals stealing his car.
The grand larceny auto incident took place on Nov. 5 before 5 a.m.
Shane said his Honda Accord Touring was locked, and both car keys were in his bedroom.
In the video, an individual is seen approaching the vehicle with what appears to be a car key in their pocket.
They easily unlocked the vehicle.
Moments later, the vehicle is gone, promptly following by the quick escape of an additional getaway car.
Shane told News 12 he is the owner of a photography business. In preparation for an early morning shoot, his vehicle who loaded with professional gear at the time of the theft. The equipment totaled approximately $10,000.
Shane said he filed a police report, but no progress has been made.
According to NYPD data, there have been 450 grand larceny auto incidents in 2024 so far.
"This has taken a big toll on us financially," Shane said. "It's not fair."
Shane is asking for anyone with information that could help police to call them.
