Drivers are being warned they must slow down or move over if they pass any cars on the side of the road starting today.
New York’s expanded ‘Move Over’ law went into effect today.
The original law required drivers to slow down or change lanes only when passing an emergency vehicle.
However, lawmakers say including all cars under the law will prevent crashes.
The fine for first time offenders will be $150, plus two points on your license.
