A family in the Bronx says they are fed up with the black water that continues to leak from a hole in the ceiling of their young son’s bedroom.
The family says they have asked the landlord repeatedly for help but that the water continues to drip.
Latifah Fludd showed News 12 two leaking holes in the ceiling of her son’s bedroom. She said earlier this month, her 6-year-old felt water dripping on him as he slept.
That’s when Fludd says she called the landlord of 857 Crotona Park North to get it fixed. Instead, she says the landlord opened up the ceiling, but that the water keeps coming down.
"We have to change these buckets like twice a day, three times a day. We noticed it leaks at night. We don't know if it's people taking showers, we don't know where that water is coming from,” said Fludd.
She says their son now sleeps in the living room to keep him away from the situation since the leaking began.
The family says the super of the building has stopped by several times to take a look at some of the damage, but nothing has been done to fix it in about a month.
Another issue the family says is a concern is mice. They say they have caught 24 mice this year.
With the holidays approaching, the family says they just want their 6-year-old son to be able to sleep safely in his room again.
News 12 reached out to the property manager listed for the building and has not heard back yet.
