A 17-year-old boy has died after he was shot in the stomach early this morning in Soundview, according to the NYPD.

Police officers say they responded to the shooting around 3:30 a.m. near Evergreen Avenue and Westchester Avenue. Footage posted on the Citizen App shows police and an ambulance at the scene. The investigation there continued until the afternoon.

His family has identified him as Sincere Emanuel Campbell, a high school senior who was described as loving, kind, smart and hardworking. They say Sincere worked two jobs and had hopes of becoming an engineer.

News 12 obtained surveillance footage that captured Campbell’s final moments. In the video, it appears the teen gets into a confrontation with several people near a dark-colored SUV. A person in a dark-colored hoodie then steps out of the back passenger side door and opens fire on the teen, who fell to the sidewalk.

No arrests have been made.
