The family of a child who was fatally shot in Bridgeport is honoring what would have been his 16th birthday by pushing for stricter gun laws.
Clinton Howell, 12 years old at the time, was fatally shot outside his family home on Willow Street in 2018 one week before Christmas.
His family says they want to keep Howell’s death front and center by advocating for stricter gun laws.
“I want people to remember my brother, what happened to him— and as a family, we want his legacy to live on in the form of safer streets,” says Gamel Dawkins, Howell’s brother.
Two suspects are awaiting trial in connection with the fatal shooting.
