The Bronx family of slain Soundview teen continues to advocate for justice as they faced the alleged killer in court on Tuesday.

Emery Mizell was 17 years old when she was stabbed to death by another teen back in May 2024.

On Tuesday, Mizell's family was inside a Bronx courtroom and faced the 16-year-old who is accused of killing her.

"She was laughing. She thinks this is a joke. She thinks she got away with it," Emery's cousin tells News 12.

Next month, a judge could decide if that suspected teen is eligible for bail.

"I want her to be sentenced to, like, the fullest extent of the law. I don't want her to get off on anything. There's no shortcuts," says Emery's cousin.
