PM, checking back in now with storm watch teams, hoo SECA Hope cold. Today, we saw some snowflakes and now you're telling me wet weather is coming this weekend, I'm a little worried. No snow. I'm less worried. Well, it's still going to be an impactful system and something that we need to really prepare ourselves for over the next couple of days. So we saw the cold. Today, saw a few of those festive flakes, a nice couple of days ahead and this is what you can expect for Sunday evening into Monday, windswept rain. So the wind will be an issue and the rain starting Sunday evening and even lasting into Monday morning, a line of gusty thunderstorms that could start pushing through as early as 10:11 p.m. on Sunday. So we're still fine tuning the storm as we get through the next couple of days. We'll let you know what, what we can expect. Excuse me. So the gusts 40 to 50 MPH that can knock down tree land, tree branches even cause a concern for some scattered power outages and localized flash flooding, especially for the most flood prone air. So let's get into the future cast this evening will remain quiet. The clouds are with us. It will be clear tomorrow morning but still cold temperatures in the mid thirties, but not as cold as it's been over. The last couple of days. Tomorrow's highs will be in the mid to upper forties. So that season will feel we're seeing the sunshine again. Haven't seen that for the last couple of days. So it will be something that we can enjoy and guess what the sun does take us into our Saturday. A blend of sunny clouds with highs in the low to mid f Saturday. The pick of the week go outside and the conditions or just prepare for what's coming our way on Sunday because it is going to be nasty out there with the widespread rain and gusty winds moving into our area. So here's the timeline of the storm. The showers could be here as early as Sunday afternoon around 12:01 p.m. But the brunt of the system will start moving into our area closer to midnight and we're talking about heavy rain and gusty winds behind the front lies a cold blast. So winds will start picking up 40 to 50 MPH. And then that cold.

Family-ready toys and games that won't break the bank

Marilyn and joining us now with more toy fund is Madeline Buckley senior editor at the Toy Insider. That's right. Madeline. Thanks so much for joining us. Thank you for having me so many fun options here to keep the kids busy and off the screens during those days or break. That is so important. Now, what are some of the boredom buster must have toys. All right, So we're gonna start with something for the younger ones ages four enough. But that the whole family can enjoy, this is the game Pop Up Pirate and it's really, really simple and so fun. Everyone has a different sword color and you take turns putting the swords into the slaps on the side, the pirate barrel and you don't know how many swords it will take to make the Pirate pop up. It could be one, it could be four, it could be seven. So there's really that element of surprise and when it pops out you're gonna get that nice jump factor and everybody's going to get some good laughs. I think this is great because it's good for all ages. My pirate still hasn't popped, but when we did yesterday popped on 11 try. So it's such a fun, easy to learn game for the whole right. It makes it it makes it exciting. So I see you have so many toys here and we were talking earlier, you said it's for the whole family and I'm sure adults alone can enjoy some of these things to absolutely honestly everything on this table so much fun for all ages. I mean like let's talk about the next toy which has sonic, the hedgehog, a brand that has been around for quite a few years now and the parents are gonna recognize and love just as much as the kids, this is a set of R. C. Cars that all feature sonic characters. We have our friend Amy Silver and sonic. What I love about these RC racers is that they are powered by batteries so you don't have to recharge them. That means there's not gonna be that time where kids are gonna have to find something to do. Wild batteries are recharging, you're gonna have this remote and the separate car but you can send it forward backward and the remote don't interfere, they're only $20 each. You can get the whole line and if you have multiple kids they can race and enjoy that together. Kind of recreate those video games at home. We love it. And we were talking about how these toys can get super expensive but you're saying that's under 20 bucks and everything on the table is fairly cheap to everything I have on the table here is under $30. So definitely you can still stay budget friendly and have lots of fun. I think the next example here, my lego set that I've brought the lego Friends Heart Lake downtown diner, It is a great example, $30 but it's such a fun and beautiful little lego set. You build a little diner. It has interactive features, the jukebox move that has three lego friends characters, a little booth for them to sit out. What I love about this is that it is challenging enough. It's going to keep kids occupied for you know, a couple of hours as they build. But then you have an adorable little place that encourages imaginative play once it's built, that's no, not the end of the play pattern and you know, Madeline, it seems like a lot of these are adult friendly too. I think Asia and I want to try some, it's for the whole family to play right. It is absolutely, I think building lego is so much fun for all ages. Even this next set, these are the real little micro craft kits and I put together both of these craft kits to show you on air and I had so much fun with them. Talk about budget friendly, they're only 9 99. They come in these adorable little cab oodles that are reusable, all of the materials kids need to do, the crafts are inside and it's tiny versions of craft that you might make regularly. This is a terrarium, this is a color in backpack markers, You make tiny bath bombs and I also love that you can see witchcraft, you're gonna get on the outside so you can put a few of their favorites and at that $10 price point you can pick up a few, keep busy for a whole day.
