The man accused of fatally shooting another man in Norwood last month pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder Wednesday.
Jamel Burney allegedly gunned down Michael Vermong, 46, during an argument on March 29.
It happened at the victim's home on Bainbridge Avenue.
According to prosecutors, responding officers saw Burney while canvassing the area. They say he matched the description of a suspect, and when police approached him, he allegedly fled and tossed a gun.
Burney's lawyer declined to comment. The defendant is due back in court in August.
