A father in Soundview was arrested and accused of beating his 4-year-old daughter with a baseball bat. 

Police say they took 32-year-old Noel Morales into custody Monday at 1145 Morrison Ave. 

Morales' daughter suffered serious injuries to her chest and back and is recovering at the hospital, according to reports.

Police say Morales is being charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
