Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that tore through a Gravesend apartment building early Thursday morning.
According to fire officials, the fire took place at one of the Marlboro Houses on Avenue V at around 2 a.m. The fire spread from the 8th floor apartment to the 9th floor and took about an hour to put out.
Red Cross trucks assisted at least two families who have been displaced due to the fire.
Fire officials say four people were injured, including three firefighters and a resident of the building.
A resident told News 12 he was told by firefighters that it may have been an electrical fire.
