A major collision at the intersection of Williamsbridge Road and Pelham Parkway North left an ambulatory vehicle destroyed and a delivery truck flipped onto its side.
The FDNY says it responded to calls of a crash at 6:30 a.m. during the Tuesday morning rush.
“Wrong place, wrong time… the truck and the ambulance just collided,” said Rolando, a bystander at the scene.
Investigators say the driver of the truck and thedriver and passenger of the ambulette were taken to Jacobi Hospital with minor injuries.
The delivery truck, owned by Krystal Fruits and Vegetables, was on its way to deliver produce to a nearby assisted living facility, according to the company's owner.
It took crews hours to tow both vehicles and clear the debris from the intersection.
Bx12 buses were rerouted due to the surrounding roads being blocked off.
News 12 crews on scene witnesses tow trucks flip the delivery truck back onto its wheels before being towed off.
There is no word yet on which driver is at fault.
FDNY says the crash is still under investigation.
“Had one or the other stopped and looked… this would not have happened,” said Rolando.
