An early morning apartment fire in Harlem killed a young child and a woman. One other person is in critical condition, police say.
The FDNY says the fire started around 2:30 a.m. and was contained to an apartment on the sixth floor.
Police say a 5-year-old girl and her father's 36-year-old girlfriend died at a hospital.
The girl's father, 46-year-old Eric Williams, is listed in critical condition. News 12 spoke with a resident who knew Williams and says the family's three huskies also died in the fire.
Two other people, including a firefighter, also sustained injuries.
Outside the building, an electric motorbike and a hoverboard were badly burned.
Officials say the cause of the fire was due to lithium ion batteries from E-Bikes/Scooters.
