Dozens of Bronx residents came out to Morris Avenue on Saturday afternoon for a block party held by the fire department.
Attendees got the chance not only to eat food and listen to music, but also to learn how to perform CPR, tour the fire house and check out the fire trucks. Kids even had the opportunity to dress up like firefighters.
The department says it hopes the event will both educate people on fire safety and promote the FDNY as a career option.
Saturday marked the sixth and final event in a summer-long series of these block parties. The FDNY held at least one in every borough.
