Police: Mother charged after Williamsbridge building fire hospitalizes 3 children

Police say 33-year-old Remi Latei, the mother of the three children, was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

A fire at a building on Burke Avenue in Williamsbridge left three children hospitalized, and police say their mother has now been charged in connection to the incident. 
The FDNY says the fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The woman who called 911 tells News 12 she was walking her dog when she noticed black smoke coming out of the two-story building.
The FDNY says no adults were home at the time of the fire. News 12 is told three young children were pulled out of the building and taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Jacobi.
Police say 33-year-old Remi Latei, the mother of the three children, was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. 
The children are in critical but stable condition. 
There is no word on what caused the fire.
