A firefighter is in serious condition after responding to a two-car accident in Manhattan Sunday.
Fire officials say FDNY members responded to 11th Avenue and 42nd Street in Manhattan for a motor vehicle crash at around 3:19 p.m.
While attempting to stabilize the Volvo and BMW involved and remove the occupants inside, the driver of one of the vehicles hit the gas and caused a car to fall and pin a firefighter. The firefighter was unpinned and transported to Bellevue Hospital in serious, but stable condition. He is currently being treated for leg injuries, according to the fire commissioner.
No civilian injuries were reported.
