The FDNY on Wednesday held a graduation welcoming 185 new emergency medical technicians.
The class of 185 just finished training after spending more than three months learning CPR, trauma assessments, oxygen and ventilation skills, emergency childbirth and more.
“Each of you heard a greater calling than yourselves, a calling that will take you into people’s homes to the streets of our city to fires to accidents and to mass casualty incidents,” said FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh. “You will be there to help people on their best and worst days.”
The new graduates will be assigned to various units throughout New York City.
