Around 5,000 firemen stood in solidarity today with family and friends to remember 11 firefighters who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
During the 105th FDNY annual memorial service, families of the fallen were handed flags and medals to honor their loved ones.
Lt. Joseph DiBernardo, one of the survivors of the 2005 "Black Sunday" fire, was among those remembered today. He died last November after succumbing to injuries sustained during the fire.
