As first deputy commissioner and strategic leader, he is charged with managing the day-to-day operations and activities of the FDNY across all offices and bureaus. 

Pfeifer, 67, is a Queens native and was a first responder in the Sept. 11 attacks.

The FDNY says he is the founding director of the department's&nbsp;Center for Terrorism and Disaster Preparedness.&nbsp;

As first deputy commissioner and strategic leader, Joseph Pfeifer is charged with managing the day-to-day operations and activities of the FDNY across all offices and bureaus.

And then we see the temperatures recovering into the upper forties, low fifties, even taking us into the weekend and beyond. But it does come with some wet weather that is going to start pushing through our area Friday afternoon and even into the evening, catching a break on Saturday before more wet weather moves into our area Sunday into Monday. So let's time it out on your futurecast tomorrow. A beautiful day, sunshine all day long clouds start to move in for the second half of the day and that is ahead of the storm system that is going to give us some rain.
