The FDNY announced on Wednesday it is partnering with Grubhub, DoorDash and Uber to help stop the spread of e-bike fires.
So far in 2023, there have been 67 fires caused by e-bikes.
“The FDNY has conducted outreach about fires and how to safely own an e-bike,” said FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh. “We are pleased to announce a
partnership, as this info is critical for us and the public. We know we need to work together for our safety.”
Grubhub says it will be setting up stations so that operators can safely change equipment and batteries when they need.
