Authorities say the flames broke out on the tenth floor of the 20-story building at 3135 Park Avenue.
It took 78 fire and EMS personnel to control the blaze.
Officials say the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by fire marshals.
