Firefighters respond to basement fire in Kingsbridge
2h agoThe FDNY worked to put out flames inside an apartment building in Soundview Saturday morning.
Reports of the blaze on the first floor of the Trio Apartments came in just before 6 a.m.
Neighbors say that at least one person was injured with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
This comes almost a week after the fatal fire at the Twin Parks apartment in the Bronx that was caused by a space heater, which the Department of Energy says tenants usually use during extreme cold weather.
The cause of the Soundview fire is under investigation.
